There are critical engineering issues in the contemporary automobile. In response, WEGU has developed a unique capability to offer an exceptional range of product performance capabilities.
Utilizing a sophisticated two-shot injection process, WEGU has eliminated a costly, time consuming and labour intensive production process for a wide range of products that are unique to the automobile industry.
WEGU molds components that combine hard plastic materials for structural purposes with softer plastic materials that provide sealing and/or dampen vibration and noise. The resulting component is a lighter weight, highly functional, easier to install and in many instances a less costly component then could be manufactured by any other method.
Insulating automobile occupants from noise, vibration and harshness requires skilfully designed components that are molded from a variety of rubber materials as well as composites that include rubber bonded to metals.
Utilizing special multi-cavity rubber injection equipment with capacities up to 500 tons, WEGU molds a wide range of purpose-designed components that permit automotive engineers to meet or exceed NVH objectives.
This category of component is required to withstand a variety of combinations of constant or shock load, heat, chemical and environmental conditions. Metal structural components, properly pre-treated, can be securely rubber encapsulated in WEGU’S single pass process.
Rubber manufacturing capabilities include injection molded rubber, rubber-to metal bonding, compression and transfer molded rubber products, tank linings, pulley lagging and roll covering. WEGU utilizes injection presses up to 500 tons, and compression transfer machines with capacities of up to 2000 tons.
WEGU’s manufacturing capability has extended over the last 20 years to include single and multi-color plastic injection molding specializing in bonding polymeric rubbers to thermoplastics, metals and other materials.
